The film, based on Russell Banks’ novel “Foregone,” follows the life of Leonard Fife, a Canadian-American documentary filmmaker and Vietnam War draft evader. Played by Richard Gere in his later years and Jacob Elordi in flashbacks, Leonard is portrayed as a complex character whose final interview reveals deep and often unreliable recollections of his life.
