In the music video for “Woman,” one of the singles from Mumford & Sons’ latest album, viewers get a visual landscape of their tune that goes beyond the banjo-clad fun of the past.
Cut by Kenji Yamauchi and colored by our own Steven San Miguel, “Woman” features dancers Yeman Brown and Stephanie Crousillat who bring a heightened sense of movement and melody to the screen. Inspired by an improvised dance performed by Brown that one of the band members had previously viewed, the handheld camcorder-captured video takes on an ethereal feel that leaves viewers with an incredibly intimate portrait of the two dancers.
The video shoot was directed by longtime Mumford & Sons creative partner James Marcus Haney and features choreography by Kristin Sudeikis. With each movement set against the entrancing tune by Mumford & Sons, every shot brings viewers deeper into the world set forth.
