Kim Dubé cuts “Whatever, Dude” for Nike Women

Last fall, Shalane Flanagan became the first American woman to win the New York City marathon.

As she prepared to run the Boston Marathon on Monday, we were thrilled to work on a spot that celebrates her accomplishments and work ethic.

Female athletes oftentimes get more buzz around their gear or personal lives rather than their accomplishments—and the spot works to recognize and undo this notion. When the commentator mentions her shoes, Flanagan reminds him how hard she works for her tremendous accomplishments, eventually running away and saying “Whatever, Dude.”

This spot was cut by Kim Dubé, mixed by Charlie Keating, directed by the Hoffman Brothers, and finished by our friends at Jane Studios.

Check it out above, and be sure to check out Kim’s reel here.
